The Scottish Borders Archive and Local Studies Service is located within the Heritage Hub. The manuscript records for the Scottish Borders including parish records and kirk session records, valuation rolls, records of schools, families and businesses, historic newspapers, maps, reference books etc are available here. The collections cover the geographical area of the former counties of Berwickshire, Peeblesshire, Roxburghshire and Selkirkshire. They hold the council records for these areas as well as the former Borders Regional Council. The Scotland’s People is the official Scottish genealogy resource and one of the largest online sources of original genealogical information. Some records are not available online (poorlaw, school, business or local estate records). Guidance and information can be found at the Heritage Hub. Before you arrive you may want to use the online version and then put some time aside during your stay to do further research. We now have a fast, reliable internet connection via fibre so you can continue your research into your family history in your beautiful cottage at Burnbrae Holidays.
